Pizza Night - January 12th - Night at the Museum

The Springfield Township library received a National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) grant to display a collection called "Picturing America." As you enter the library you will see some of the pictures on display in the front display case and you will see others as you walk through the second set of doors hanging from the ceiling in the aisle above the new books and aisle next to the DVDs. On January 12th, the Middle School group will learn more about the paintings at a Night at the Museum event. There will be pizza, fun games and an exciting trip through "Picturing America".

Book Talk for Dec. 8th Pizza Night

Bring your favorite book to the next Pizza Night for your minute of fame review. Share your ideas about the story with everybody on Dec. 8th at the Springfield Township Library at 7pm. Everyone who gives a "Book Talk" enters a drawing for the Grand Prize.

We had a great time with brain teasers at the last pizza night in October, so to continue the challenge we are going to work on various types of puzzles both on paper and online in November. We look forward to an exciting time and hope that the 5th through 8th graders will come out to the Springfield Township Library at 7pm on Nov. 10th. Remember Pizza night goes until 8pm.

Come to the SpringField Township Library for our summer reading program. Catch the Reading Bug and get a chance to Win an ipod Shuffle. The Teen Beat Group welcomes all students entering 5th through 9th grades. Enjoy a wide variety of book talks, activities, crafts, games, jokes and riddles and creative dramatics. Special programs have been arranged and suggestions for activities are welcome. Anyone who attends at least 6 of the 8 sessions and reads 8 books will be eligle for a grand prize.

It was a salute to the author of the popular CAPTAIN UNDERPANTS books during Pizza Night. Everyone got a copy of Dav Pilkey's comic strip bio of his early years and how he always wanted to make everyone laugh, even if it got him in trouble.

Everyone had an opportunity to draw their own "Bios." Some of the braver kids in the crowd even shared their stories with the rest of us.

The night was a big success with plenty of pizza for all.

We had a great time tonight at the Pizza night! We made snowflakes to decorate the library and Mrs. Palmer talked about some of the library's new books. Then the group talked about their favorite books.
